Metrie makes millwork moves in California

Metrie, the manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire EL & EL Wood Products Corp. (EL & EL), a two-step distributor of moulding, millwork, and door products across the Southwest United States.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Metrie operates 6 solid wood and MDF manufacturing facilities along with 24 distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada.

“As a company we are committed to bringing the best experience in the industry to our valued partners,” said Metrie President and CEO Ken Bowie. “However, until today’s announcement, we had a relatively small distribution footprint in California, the fifth-largest economy in the world.”

Bowie said the acquisition of EL & ELL strengthens Metrie’s efforts across all North American markets. Combined with the 2020 acquisition of its Sacramento MDF manufacturing facility,

Metrie will add state-of-the-art distribution and fabrication facilities in Chino and Galt, Calif. through this latest acquisition.

According to Metrie, the company is the largest MDF moulding manufacturer in North America.
