Here are the next three in the latest class of STIHL 2022 Hardware Store All Stars that represent community-oriented, customer-focused, high-performance hardware-and-building-supply retailing at its finest. From each of the 50 United States, HBSDealer recognized an All-Star performer.

You can read about all 50 honorees here in the digital issue of HBSDealer. Additionally, HBSDealer.com will highlight a handful of honorees one batch at a time. Three 2022 high performers from Nevada, New Hampshire and New Jersey are featured below.

Nevada

Meads Hardware

This Orgill dealer is described in many customer messages left on Google and Yelp as being “old school retail Las Vegas.” The store offers hardware, housewares, electrical and plumbing. One of several Yelp reviewers raved about Meads, and said, “this place is the ‘bomb.’ It’s original Las Vegas from when I was a kid. I’m happy to spend money here! And the selections are not only great, but the handymen that work for me, go here first.

New Hampshire

Rand’s Hardware

Rand’s Hardware has been a Plymouth institution since 1908. Now run and co-owned by third generation grandson Steve Rand, the store offers a huge selection of STIHL products, Carhartt clothing, and Toro power equipment. Their niche beekeeping category has made Rand’s a destination for busy beekeepers and beginners alike. Rand said they, host seminars for bee enthusiasts to share tips, best practices and stay up on the latest buzz.

New Jersey

Schwering’s Hardware

2022 marks 100 years for this Palmyra classic. What’s the secret? “That’s pretty easy: Taking care of your customers,” said Steve Schwering, grandson of the founders. “It’s more than just your pricing on the shelf and your product mix. It’s the bond you have with the community.” An historic, inviting building attracts newcomers, as well. It’s common for the curious to drop in and say, “‘Wow, I can’t believe this place,’” Schwering said. “There’s a lot of fun stuff here besides just the core hardware products.”
