You can read about all 50 honorees here in the digital issue of HBSDealer. Additionally, HBSDealer.com will highlight a handful of honorees one batch at a time. Three 2022 high performers from Kansas, Kentucky and Louisiana are featured below.

Kansas

Adams Lumber & Homestore

Family-owned and operated since 1969, Adams Lumber & Homestore overlooks the Santa Fe Trail in historical Council Grove. Their 12,000 square foot space allows them to offer a wide selection of grills for every need, an assortment of appliances, and outdoor power equipment. Their crew specializes in custom homes, and they take pride in building garages and decks. Adams said, we will help you build from the ground up.

Kentucky

Lyons Ace Hardware

In the Lyons family of stores, this STIHL dealer has three hardware locations, an outdoor equipment store, and a lumber company. In business since 1909, today the current owner Gregg Stevenson is a fourth-generation owner of Lyons Lumber. His favorite memories of Lyons Lumber are from his younger days, he said, watching the mill shop guys, as many as 12 full time employees, construct and repair items. They even helped him build a go-cart.

Louisiana

Hartman’s Hardware

Last year, Hurricane Ida hit the Gulf Coast and Hartman’s Hardware in Boutte suffered severe damage. The resiliency of Charlie Hartman, and his son Edwin, was tested when they lost an entire brick wall of the store’s exterior. Even with flooded floors and no electricity, this retailer — and STIHL dealer — remained open because they knew folks would soon be coming to them for help rebuilding. Ed Hartman said, “we are here for our community, without them, we couldn’t be here.
