Meet the 2022 STIHL Hardware All Stars: Ala., Alaska, Ariz.

Here are the first three in the latest class of STIHL 2022 Hardware Store All Stars that represent community-oriented, customer-focused, high-performance hardware-and-building-supply retailing at its finest. From each of the 50 United States, HBSDealer recognized an All-Star performer.

You can read about all 50 honorees here in the digital issue of HBSDealer. Additionally, HBSDealer.com will highlight a handful of honorees one batch at a time. Last year’s high performers from Alabama, Alaska and Arizona are featured below.

Alabama
Warrior Ace
After losing his own daughter to cancer, Assistant Manager Mark Miller remembers how much that last Christmas meant to his family. Teaming up with the Junior League of Alabama, he organizes a yearly Christmas tree farm at the children’s hospital where kids being treated at the hospital can pick out their own tree, decorate it and keep it in their room and bring Christmas joy to their hospital stay. Miller said, My hope is for them to get another Christmas.

Alaska
Delta Building Supply
More than a hardware store, this family-owned hardware and home furnishing business in Delta Junction, Alaska, was founded in 1974 and expanded to 100,000 square feet of retail and warehouse space over the years. Delta Building Supply carries everything needed for small repairs around the house to building a home from start to finish. The second-generation brother and sister team of Ryan and Kazia Gilbertson who, along with their mom Janelle, oversee a tight-knit staff.

Arizona
HomCo Lumber & Hardware
The stated goal at this Flagstaff family business is nothing less than to help improve the customer's quality of life. Here, the three Cs are core values, culture and communication. It should be no surprise, then, that there’s an abundance of glowing customer testimonials. “Our goal is 100 percent customer engagement,” said Todd Callan, chief operating officer. “We came up with the ‘concierge’ concept. More than just a greeter, it’s a customer caretaker to ensure all our customers are getting cared for.”
