Masonite reported that second quarter sales surged 33% to $662 million from sales of $500 million in the second quarter 2020.
North American residential sales were $493 million, a 29% increase compared to the second quarter of 2020, driven by a 19% increase in base volume, a 7% increase in average unit price and a combined 3% increase due to favorable foreign exchange and the sale of components and other products.
European sales jumped 194% to $88 million while architectural sales rose 11% to $76 million.
The Tampa, Fla.-based interior and exterior door manufacturer also posted a second quarter net income of $35 million, rising 3% from a net income of $34 million for the same period a year ago.
