Quikrete Industry Dashboard

The latest Quikrete Industry Dashboard includes Friday’s Monthly Retail Sales report from the U.S. Census Bureau. In April, unadjusted NAICS 444 sales increased to $35.5 billion, up for the month and the year, as building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers powered through the coronavirus outbreak with “essential” status.

Data for April is not available for hardware store retailers, NAICS 44413. But in March, the category showed a slight decline in sales to $2.18 billion, compared to $2.20 billion in the same month in 2019.

Also on the Quikrete Industry Dashboard, gas prices rose for the first time in months, up to a national average of $1.87 for a gallon of regular.

Looking ahead, housing starts for April will be reported on May 19.
