Millard Lumber named Independent ProDealer of the Year

2/20/2018

HBSDealer, the building products and home improvement retailing magazine of Lebhar-Friedman Inc., has named Omaha, Nebraska-based Millard Lumber as the 2017 Independent Pro Dealer of the Year.

The annual award, selected by editors of HBSDealer in concert with the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association, is designed to recognize a high-performance independent lumberyard with a commitment to best practices and the best values of the lumber and building material industry.

“We are humbled and honored to be chosen for such a prestigious award and join an outstanding list of prior recipients.  This honor is a direct reflection of the hard work of our entire team who deserve all of the credit for their outstanding customer focus,” said Joel Russell, chief operating officer of Millard Lumber.

With the slogan “More than Lumber,” Millard Lumber serves its communities in Omaha and Waverly, Nebraska, with drive-thru warehouses, design centers, hardware stores and a truss and wall manufacturing plant. The company, now in its third generation of family ownership, also operates a cabinet division in Spring Hill, Kansas.

In addition to embracing the traditional values of service to community and customer, the company is a recognized leader and innovator of lumberyard technology. It continuously strives for a paperless system and metrics-based decision making.

Millard Lumber is also no stranger to awards. The Northwestern Lumber Association has recognized Millard Lumber as the 2017 Nebraska Lumber Dealer of the Year.  And for 11 of the past 12 years, Millard Lumber has been recognized by the National Safety Council’s Greater Omaha Chapter as one of the Safest Companies in the area.

Millard Lumber will accept the award at the 2017 ProDealer Industry Summit, slated for Phoenix, Arizona, Oct. 17-19. The summit is hosted jointly by the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and HBSDealer.
