McCoy’s Building Supply expands footprint
McCoy’s Building Supply plans to open two more Texas retail locations next year — on in Alvin and one in Montgomery — marking the 87th and 88th units for the dealer.
The Alvin store will be located on FM 517 near the intersection of State Highway 35 on 8.6 acres of land.
McCoy’s currently serves the Alvin community primarily from a location in Pearland and has nine locations in the greater Houston area.
“Alvin is not currently served by a building material dealer that can provide for the professional and the homeowner the way we do,” real estate manager Phil Hutchinson said. “McCoy’s looks forward to serving builder, remodeler, DIYer and farm and ranch customers in the Alvin community.”
Construction has begun on the new facility, which will feature 18,000 sq. ft. of retail space and a 21,525-sq.-ft. lumber drive-thru with a concrete paved parking lot.
McCoy’s Building Supply also recently purchased a 10-acre site at the corner of Highway 105 and Buffalo Springs Road in Montgomery, Texas. Construction has already begun on a facility that will serve builders and remodelers, DIYers and the farm and ranch community. The store will open in mid-2017.
“We’ve been serving the Montgomery market for many years from our nearby stores in Tomball and Huntsville,” said Dan Stauffer, vice president of marketing and real estate. “Demand for our products and services continues to grow, and we’re excited to provide our great customers in Montgomery with a location to call their own.”
Once completed, the site will include 18,000 sq. ft. of indoor retail space. A paved lumberyard and 26,000 sq. ft. of drive-through lumber storage are also in the works.
