Lyman Lumber joins US LBM Holdings
Lyman Lumber, the Excelsior, Minn.-based pro dealer, has been acquired by BlackEagle Partners, the parent company of US LBM Holdings. Serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area as well as parts of Wisconsin, Lyman Lumber includes lumberyards in Chanhassen, Minn., and Eau Claire, Wis., as well as Carpentry Contractors Corp. and Automated Building Components.
Lyman Lumber was No. 22 on the HCN Pro Dealer Scoreboard for 2011. Annual sales, according to the BlackEagle announcement, are $100 million. The transaction was effective Oct. 28, 2011.
Lyman Lumber will join US LBM Holdings, a collection of eight pro dealer operations serving the Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic in nine states with more than 40 locations. BlackStar, a New York private equity firm, is the financial backing and strategic oversight behind US LBM Holdings and its companies.
LT Gibson, CEO of US LBM, said in a prepared statement: “With over 114 years of commitment to the building products industry, Lyman has established a terrific reputation. All of our business units will benefit through this acquisition, and we are excited to welcome Lyman’s employees to our team.”
Lyman’s VP operations, Dale Carlson, will remain with the business in his new role as president. “The breadth of products and quality of services offered by all of our business lines at Lyman will only improve through our partnership with US LBM.”
