Guerry Lumber expands in Savannah

2/20/2018

Guerry Lumber of Savannah, Georgia, expanded into the architectural window and door business with its acquisition of HomeSouth Architectural, also located in Savannah.

Guerry Lumber is a 90-year-old family-owned business.

“HomeSouth Architectural has a strong commitment to their customers and a great team serving them,” said Steve Chick, president of Guerry Lumber. “Those factors, combined with their location, make this combination a good fit for Guerry Lumber.”

HomeSouth’s Manager Chris Hall and team will stay on in their current roles.

The products produced by HomeSouth, along with the products Guerry Lumber stocks, will allow the combined customers to source everything, from the foundation to the door locks the company said. The single source solution for all building material needs will, according to the company, create efficiencies that will benefit all customers.

Founded in 1927 by T H Guerry Sr., the company is located on a 6-acre site located.  The company serves commercial builders, home builders, professional remodelers and homeowners with a wide selection of lumber, plywood, moulding, windows and doors, as well as custom millwork. Guerry Lumber now operates under the guidance of President Steve Chick and the founder’s great-granddaughter, Lindy Wheat who represents the fourth generation of the family.

HomeSouth Architectural was started in 2000 by Peter Humphrey as a division of North Atlantic Corp. (NAC), another family-owned business based in Somerset, MA.  For the last 17 years HomeSouth Architectural has worked hard to provide outstanding service and values to their customers that will continue as part of the Guerry organization.

HomeSouth Architectural serves primarily professional builders out of their Bourne Blvd. location and provides custom millwork and trim as well as architectural windows and doors. The combined companies will now have a complete depth and breadth of products and services for their customers.
