CertainTeed partners with builders buying group
CertainTeed Corp. has announced a partnership with Custom Builders USA, a national industry buying consortium with more than 220 custom and independent builder members in 15 cities across the U.S.T he 12-month agreement provides CB/USA members with special programs and incentives for the entire line of CertainTeed WeatherBoards fiber cement siding products, including access to sales and business support.

CB/USA has built the nation’s first and largest network of top custom and independent builders and has provided them with the systems, procedures and staffing to run an effective group purchasing program at both the local and national levels. Since its formation in 2004, CB/USA has grown to 223 builder members and more than 700 vendors, suppliers and manufacturers. Together, CB/USA’s members will complete over 2,700 projects in 2012 and generate combined revenue of nearly $1 billion. By working together and consolidating their purchases, CB/USA members are able to lower their direct costs, improve their levels of service and compete effectively with larger regional and national competitors.
Based in Valley Forge, Pa., CertainTeed is a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, the world’s largest building products company, CertainTeed and its affiliates have more than 65 manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and Canada. The group had total sales of approximately $3.2 billion in 2011.
