Boardwalk town rebuilds with TimberTech
The ribbon-cutting ceremony on the Spring Lake, N.J., boardwalk included Spring Lake Mayor Jennifer Naughton at Pier Beach and council members holding signs saying: "Spring Lake: Stronger Than the Storm."
Mayor Naughton thanked city workers for bringing the Hurricane Sandy-battered boardwalk back to the community ahead of schedule.
The Spring Lake boardwalk was rebuilt using TimberTech, a splinter-free, low-maintenance, composite decking.
"TimberTech's Docksider product, specifically designed for docks and boardwalks installed quickly and easily, and the crew said they liked the new composite better than the previous composite material," said Bryan W. Dempsey, borough administrator.
The boardwalk is a traditional favorite of joggers and, at two miles long and 18 ft. wide, is the longest non-commercial boardwalk in New Jersey.
