BMC recognizes salesman of the year

2/20/2018

Las Vegas -- During the BMC National Meeting here at the M Resort, the Boise, Idaho-based pro dealer stressed team building and education.

BMC also identified outstanding individual performances. The 88-unit pro dealer recognized Christopher Cysensky as Platinum Salesman of the Year. Cysensky is the outside sales representative for the Pacific Northwest, working in the company's Tacoma, Wash., location. The performance-based award was given Tuesday night during the Sales Awards Ceremony and Dinner.

Cysensky, who began his career as forklift driver, led BMC in both sales volume and sales margin dollars.

During the awards ceremony, Pacific Northwest market sales manager Wayne Mangan, who hired Cysensky as a salesman 18 years ago, introduced the award-winner as soft-spoken, dependable and motivated. "He said, 'if you give me the job, I will do my best to be your No. 1 sales person someday,' " Mangan recalled.

The four-day national sales meeting brought together some 365 BMC field staff to talk strategy and motivation -- the theme for the event was "Leading America's Homebuilding Recovery." Some 140 vendors were present to show their wares at the BMC Trade Show. And a group of about 1,500 -- including builders, architects and vendors -- gathered in a ballroom Thursday night for a performance of Vegas entertainer Gordie Brown.

Breakout sessions of the Jan. 8-11 event included product knowledge presentations, along with a healthy dose of iPad training and best practice classes. The iPads are the equipment to carry out BMC2GO, the pro dealer's sales and communication effort for field staff.

Last year, BMC received the 2012 Pro Dealer of the Year Award, presented during the 2012 ProDealer Industry Summit.
