AZEK, Home Depot and OrePac get their hands dirty for disabled vets
AZEK, Home Depot and OrePac all teamed up Thursday, June 19th to help spruce up a garden for disabled vets in San Bernardino, California.
The Veterans Exploration Garden in Speicher Memorial Park received a new AZEK Paver walkway (which is made with 95% recycled materials) for smoother wheelchair access.
Volunteers were in tow from Team Depot as part of SPRING into Service, the organization's season-long initiative to plant edible gardens for veterans across the country. AZEK and OrePac were onboard as co-sponsors.
“We are privileged to be able to give back to our veterans who have served so bravely by adding this AZEK Paver walkway to their garden,” said Jason Grommon, president of AZEK parent company CPG Building Products.
The garden, billed as a therapeutic place for veterans to decompress and sustain their community, is managed by the non-profit Disabled American Veterans San Bernardino Chapter 12.
