Lowe's latest Tool Rental location will feature a brand new fleet of commercial-grade equipment.

As Lowe’s prepares to open its 127th store in Florida, the new location is the first to be constructed and opened with a Lowe’s Tool Rental department.

Lowe’s told HBSDealer that the latest rental department will feature a brand new fleet of commercial-grade equipment, including the Husqvarna, Bosch, and Metabo HPT brands.

Located in Parrish, the store is scheduled to open on Dec. 30. Measuring in at approximately 90,000 square feet, this location will stock about 35,000 different items and has already hired more than 140 associates; the majority of which are full-time employees.

The rental space within the store is approximately 4,000 square feet with a fully equipped mechanic shop to service tools and an area for providing product demos.

Technology in the department enables a convenient check-in and check-out process with an online reservation option, in-store self-service kiosks, and digital documents that can be signed and viewed from a mobile device.

A dedicated team of associates who can provide hands-on product demonstrations is assigned to the rental department as well, Lowe’s said.

Additionally, the department will host an assortment of drain cleaning, restoration, sanitation, and concrete tools, along with merchandise to accompany rental tools, such as protective equipment and cleaning solutions, for purchase.

The home improvement retail giant debuted a pilot rental program at a Charlotte, N.C. store in 2020.

This location is the first Lowe’s Tool Rental in Florida to offer towable compact construction equipment, such as boom lifts, compact excavators, and more.

In total, Lowe’s operates 126 stores and employs more than 23,400 people in the Sunshine State.

Earlier this month, Lowe's announced the sale of its Lowe's Canada business as the company continues to focus on its core, domestic business strategy, including rental departments.
