LBM leaders from around the country gathered virtually at the LMC Leadership Summit, held Sept.
The Wayne, Pa.-based building materials buying group said the theme “Building an Innovative Culture, allowed for exploring the role of innovation and creating a culture of adaptability in uncertain times.
This was the sixth annual event that brings together leaders in the LMC dealer network to learn together from each other and from professionals in other industries.
Programs were led by moderator Kathy Pearson, CEO of Enterprise Learning Solutions, a strategist, systems thinking expert and authority in decision making. Todd Henshaw, senior fellow at the Wharton School Center for Leadership and Change Management led the first day.

Both made the case, particularly in the current environment, that an organizational culture of adaptability is even more critical to success and long-term sustainability. They also provided concrete actions for leaders to foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
Day two focused on an Innovation tournament. In the first phase, attendees were invited to submit innovative ideas using a special industry case study. These ideas were reviewed in breakout sessions where idea owners worked to solicit feedback to enhance their original proposal. Each group then voted on the best idea that would move forward in the tournament. In the final phase, each group idea was reviewed by all attendees who then voted to choose a finalist.
Closing the Summit, Elliot Eisenberg, and internationally acclaimed economist specializing in making economics fun, relevant, and educational, took a deep dive into housing and housing indicators going into the fourth quarter of 2020 along with his outlook for 2021.
