LBM Advantage names new CEO

New leader succeeds Steve Sallah, who served as CEO for 16 years.

LBM Advantage, Inc., the New Windsor, New York-based lumber and building material buying group with more than 400 independent members, announced that the board of directors has chosen Dave DeJoy as its new president/CEO. DeJoy succeeds Steve Sallah, who's been LBM Advantage's CEO for the past 16 years.

DeJoy will officially step into his new role on August 19, 2024.

Since joining LBM Advantage in September 2021, DeJoy has displayed exceptional leadership and a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in finance, accounting, human resources, and sales operations, the company said. His career includes pivotal roles at IBM, where he spearheaded strategic technology and financial initiatives.

“Having worked with David for the last three years, I am confident the cooperative is in good hands with his vision and steady leadership,” Sallah stated. “He is an energetic, thoughtful and ethical leader with a long track record of success here and at IBM. As CFO, David embraced our mission and invested the time to understand the detailed workings of LBM Advantage.“

As CFO, DeJoy has been instrumental in driving financial and IT operations forward, aligning closely with LBM Advantage's overarching goals. As president and CEO, he will be tasked with continuing to drive innovation and adaptive strategies while staying true to the company’s mission to “create a competitive advantage for our members by leveraging their collective power,” the company said.

LBM Advantage's member base expands across more than 1,400 locations. In addition to its New Windsor headquarters, the company has offices in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Smithfield, North Carolina; and Conroe, Texas.
