Industry companies make Forbes ‘Best Mid-Sized Employers’ list
Several of the home channel industry’s most recognizable brands have been named to the Forbes 2021 list of America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers.
In the engineering category, the list includes building products distributor SRS Distribution ranked at 101 along with small engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton (201), roofing materials manufacturer GAF (204), and water solutions provider Pentair (263).
Within the retail and wholesale category, the list includes True Value Company (73), Blain’s Farm & Fleet (416), Central Garden & Pet (476), and Lumber Liquidators (476).
To determine America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed 50,000 Americans working for businesses with 1,000 employees or more.
Participants anonymously rated their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family and nominate organizations other than their own, Forbes said.
In a statement issued by SRS Distribution, the McKinney, Texas-based company said that it has successfully hired and promoted talented individuals who are inspired by their job and excited to work every day. SRS also said that throughout all levels of its organization, employees have “bought into this mindset and are as committed to the company as SRS is to them.”
“Our company culture is the number one priority at SRS,” said Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution. “Being named as one of America’s best employers is an honor, especially in light of the many challenges we experienced during 2020.”
Throughout the past year, SRS said that it has emphasized a people-first approach with a ‘One Family, One Fight’ initiative.
Tinker also said that the company's philosophy has further empowered SRS team members to think creatively and lead at all levels in the communities it serves across the nation. SRS operates more than 430 locations across 43 states. The company is a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. and Berkshire Partners LLC.
The distributor noted that since opening its doors in 2008, SRS has been driven by a “make money, have fun, give back” mission.
