Maryland hardware store has big plans for Earth Day
K&B True Value, an Annapolis, Md., store, will celebrate Earth Day on April 18 to 19 with several giveaways, demonstrations and product highlights.
Billed as the “Earth-Friendly Annapolis Hardware Store,” K&B will distribute 1,000 free Douglas Fir tree saplings; raffle off a $500 Weber Spirit grill, with proceeds going to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF); host a book signing by Susan Hartsfield, author of “The Complete Guide to Energy Conservation for Smarties;” showcase more than 1,000 earth-friendly products for the home, lawn and garden; provide training on earth-friendly products; and give away free popcorn and other “earth-friendly” gifts and prizes for customers and children.
K&B True Value has a green section that includes organic lawn care products, natural household cleaners, energy saving products and -- new since last year -- rain barrels, compost bins and crocks. In addition to CBF, the store supports community groups like Quiet Waters Park, the local Sierra Club chapter and the American Red Cross.
“By supporting your local earth-friendly hardware store, you help us bring you the best product options, at fair prices, with great customer service daily and during our customer clinic events,” said Jared Littmann, co-owner of K&B True Value.
