At Koelnmesse: Productivity, safety and ergonomics

Organizers of the International Hardware Fair in Cologne, Germany, have identified some early product trends.

The event, slated for Feb. 28 to March 3 at the Koelnmesse Expo Center in Cologne, Germany, will present products in five categories: Tools, fastening technology, industrial supplies, locks and fittings, and DIY.

"A new generation of tightening tools, abrasive tools able to separate and deburr materials will be shown for the first time, as well as diamond-cutting tools designed for engineering projects," according to a release from Koelnmesse, the event organizers.

Environmentally friendly packaging and screws that do not require pre-drilling will also be on tap in Cologne.

Also on the agenda in Cologne is a special exhibit called "Modern Power Tools -- Productivity, Safety, Ergonomics."
