It's not exactly tough to find retailers that provide knowledgeable service, or stores that are important to their communities. When it comes to All-Star status, however, it's usually a matter of someone with a little extra -- be it exceptional service, an unusual market niche or perhaps just a really great story.

The April issue of Hardware + Building Supply Dealer magazine contains the full list of 2015 honorees, and more of their stories. Here are highlights, from the class of 2015 from Arkansas and Arizona.

Wisconsin: McFarlanes'

After taking a big blow when its retail facility burned down in 2013, McFarlane's is back to continuing the legacy it established in 1917. Based in Sauk City, Wisconsin, the company was originally a tractor company. It is now a True Value store with a strong stake in farm supply, tire sales and service, agriculture tillage equipment and structural steel fabricating. Of course, it wouldn't be back on its feet without the support of a community that's come to recognize it as an indispensable asset.

Wyoming: Bloedorn Lumber

Headquartered in Torrington, Wyoming, Bloedorn's is committed to being their customers' one-stop shop for every home renovation need. The company dates back to 1919, with the formation of the Torrington Lumber & Coal Company. Today, the company operates more than 20 LBM locations in Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska and Colorado.

With a laundry list of services available, there is not much they have not covered when it comes to housing design and improvement. Separately designated centers for deck, garage, barn and kitchen designs ensure that the best customer service possible is assigned to each project. Teams of experts make the experience stress-free for homeowners. Additionally, the company has an impressive history of construction for commercial properties.
