The April issue of Hardware + Building Supply Dealer magazine contains the full list of 2015 honorees. Here are highlights from the class of 2015, continuing today with South Carolina and Washington.
Beaufort, South Carolina: Grayco Hardware
At Grayco Hardware and Grayco Building Center, there's no backing away from the big national competitors. How does the eight-unit dealer do it?
According to Herb Gray, it's mostly word of mouth.
"We try to make a friend with every customer who walks through the door," he said.
Prosser, Washington: Cook's True Value
Cook's is a standout enterprise within the True Value family, and it's also prominent in its Prosser community.
In 2014, it won the Business of the Year Award at the Community Awards Banquet, and the store maintains a savvy presence on Facebook, featuring lots of visuals and engagement from its loyal customers.
