Hardware All Stars: Mich., Minn., Miss.

2/20/2018

United by a mission of customer service, the 2016 class of HBSDealer Hardware All Stars includes 50 stores – one for each state.

Great service is a common denominator. But the all stars are also high-performing, community-minded hardware store, lumberyard of farm and ranch dealers.

Here are three more in the HBSDealer.com countdown of the class of 2016:

Michigan

Self Serve Lumber & Home Center

As Michigan’s auto industry goes, so goes the state’s economy. But when it stalls, Self Serve Lumber & Home Center continues to step on the gas. How? “Great service and sharp prices” said one observer. The 19-unit company has been family owned and operated since 1933.

Minnesota

Crosslake Ace Hardware and Appliances

Just head to the hammer – a 25-foot high tree sculpture that greets customers (and serves as a photo op) for visitors to Crosslake Ace, a 2013 Coolest Hardware Store honoree. Eclectic products, man-cave merchandising and a fun attitude combine inside this 25,000 sq. ft. layout.

Mississippi

Nabors Do it Best Home Center

Nabors Home Center, a third-generation hardware store in Chickasaw County, stands out for its wide array of offerings. Example: locals turn to Nabors for RV and boat storage during the off-season. Along with their broad hardware selection, Nabors operates a full service lumberyard, a greenhouse and even their own concrete plant.
