Here at HBSDealer, "All Star" is not a term that's bandied about lightly. This year's Hardware All Star selection (sponsored by Epicor) was the result of careful deliberation. When there are so many outstanding retailers to choose from, it's hardly ever an easy choice. However, it's the stores that go above and beyond the call of duty that get the prize, and that can mean different things for different retailers. The April issue of Hardware + Building Supply Dealer magazine contains the full list of 2015 honorees. Here are highlights from the class of 2015, continuing today with Louisiana and Montana. Pierre Part, Lousiana: Pierre Part Store Having crossed the century mark, Pierre Part Store is as ingrained in its community as ever -- especially given the fact that its oldest employee, Effie, has been there for 61 years. All that time has certainly allowed Pierre Part Store to diversify its offerings, which range from groceries, baked goods and Cajun products to building materials and a garden center. Their motto: "You might say 'we have everything but the kitchen sink,' but wait, we sell that too!" Billings, Montana: Shipton's Big R Check out the chicks at Shipton's Big R -- they're part of the extensive farm, ranch and pet offering at the growing retail company, which is modernizing its fleet and expanding to a third Billings location this April. And if you can't find what you need at the jewelry, footwear or automotive aisles, just walk over to the special ordering desk.
