Do it Best appoints general counsel

Do it Best Corp. has named Gary Furst its VP human resources, general counsel and corporate assistant secretary, effective immediately.

As VP human resources, Furst will oversee all HR programs for Do it Best Corp., including compensation, benefits, employee recruitment, training and development. In addition, as general counsel, he will be responsible for management of all internal and external legal matters pertaining to Do it Best Corp.

Furst fills the vacancy left by Dan Starr, who was promoted earlier this year to executive VP  nd chief operating officer, replacing the retiring Dave Haist.

Prior to joining Do it Best Corp., Furst was a practicing attorney at Barnes & Thornburg in Fort Wayne. His 15 years at the firm included seven years as a litigation partner. Furst’s practice also focused on commercial, business and intellectual property law.  Earlier in his career, he handled employment litigation matters.
