Hammond Lumber Company, the Belgrade, Maine-based pro dealer, has announced the creation of a new senior leadership team.

Mike Hammond, president and CEO of the fourth-generation, family-owned, company has appointed internal promotions and several new roles within the company.

"Our senior leadership team will help guide the company's overall mission and strategy,” Hammond said. “The collective talent of this team enables us to drive long-term growth while continuing to build on the family values that have helped us succeed over the past 67 years.”

New appointments include the naming of Rod Bickford as Hammond's new chief operating officer and Fred Perkins as the dealer's new senior vice president of sales. The company has also designated vice presidents for regional management throughout Maine.

The updated organizational structure is a natural progression of the company's long-term growth strategy that ensures future success for generations to come, according to Hammond.  “We are fortunate to have some of our industry's most experienced veterans on our team, as well as the pipeline of rising leaders in our future," he said.

With 21 locations across Maine and 800 employees, Hammond Lumber said that it has seen record-setting sales growth in 2020 fueled by a surge in home improvement projects due to the coronavirus pandemic. Last year the company reached sales of $251 million..

"Across our 21 branches, these senior leaders - and truly, each of our 800 employees on the Hammond Lumber team - are committed to our future success. Together, we will continue to build upon our culture with a strong foundation of family values, teamwork, and customer-centricity," added Hammond
