In today’s high-speed world, an image conveys plenty of meaning and information.
The West Coast Lumber & Building Material Association (WCLBMA) has followed that route and created an infographic to demonstrate the lumber and building material industry’s impact on California’s economy.
According to the WCLBMA, the "Building for a Better California" image provides “a clean and concise view of 4 key metrics that illustrate the power of our collective membership.”
More than 250 members of the WCLBMA contribute to their communities and the Golden State’s overall economy. The WCLBMA also says its membership provides “one of the most critical cogs in the supply chain for affordable housing in California.”
Membership is being encouraged to download and share the graphic. Additionally, the association said the image is meant to educate state representatives on the industry’s contribution while helping to influence legislation and public policy in the state, “for the good of the lumber industry and business in general.”
Through a “clear, unified, resonant voice to policymakers,” the WCLBMA said it is hoping to raise awareness of the association and build credibility with state representatives.
The metrics displayed in the graphic include:
- $6.1 billion in gross revenue created by the industry in California;
- $353 million in payroll provided by membership;
- $129 million in sales taxes generated by the state’s LBM industry;
- and members providing good-paying jobs for over 4,600 ethnically diverse Californians.
