Floor & Decor readies for North Portland opening

Floor & Decor is keeping its word regarding big expansion in 2022.

Earlier this month, the home improvement retailer said it expects 20% warehouse store expansion in 2022 along with 20% sales growth. As of the end of 2021, the company operated 160 stores and two design centers in 33 states.

In March alone, Floor & Decor has opened its 10th store in the Chicago market and its fourth location in Long Island, N.Y., Additional March openings include a design center in Tyson’s Corner, Va. and a store in North Portland, Ore., which goes live on March 31.

The prior month, Floor & Decor also opened new design centers in Houston and Miami, a third store opening in the San Antonio market, and openings in McAllen, Texas and Monona, Wis.

Looking ahead, Floor & Decor expects to open as many as 500 new locations in the next 8 to 10 years, including 32 new locations this year.

Floor & Decor’s North Portland store follows the company’s 70,000-square-foot warehouse format, including a design center, with 50 employees.

As has been the tradition with recent Floor & Decor openings, the retailer is actively pursuing sales to professionals.
