Specialty home improvement retailer Floor & Decor is making its latest effort  toward garnering more sales from professional contractors.

The Atlanta, Georgia-based company, which specializes in hard surface flooring, announced today that it has launched its “PRO Appreciation Month” program this month.

According to Floor & Decor, the new program is designed to “celebrate and reward the contractors who work tirelessly to transform homes and commercial spaces across America.”

Throughout September, Floor & Decor is offering free in-store giveaways and online installation training for professionals involved in installing and specifying hard-surface flooring in new construction, renovation, and remodeling projects.

The promotion is taking place at both the retailer’s warehouse stores and online.

“Our annual PRO Appreciation Month gives us a chance to recognize pros across the country,” said Wendy Martin, chief marketing officer at Floor & Decor. “We understand how hard they work to serve their customers, creating amazing spaces and transforming everything from bathrooms to entire buildings. The Floor & Decor team thanks pros for their hard work and dedication.”

With each new store opening, Floor & Decor hosts special tours for professional customers. This includes reaching out to area architects, builders, contractors, remodelers, realtors, and flooring installers.

For the first half of the year, the company opened 12 new locations and said it remains on track for 32 new stores by the end of 2023.

At the end of its second quarter, Floor & Decor operated more than 200 warehouse stores and 5 design studios in 36 states. Since late June, Floor & Decor opened new stores in Cheektowaga and Henrietta New York; Apple Valley, Minnesota; Clermont, Florida; and Kentwood, Michigan.

Additionally, the grand opening of a Port Chester, New York store — near Greenwhich, Connecticut — is scheduled for Sept. 21.

Floor & Decor is not the only major home improvement retailer that has made a recent effort to improve its relationship with professional customers.

In recent months, Lowe’s has launched a series of initiatives that are designed to save pros time and money.
