EYE on RETAIL: Leslie’s store expansion
Leslie’s plans to expand its 1,000-plus-location swimming pool specialty store chain in 2024 with the opening of 15 new stores.
"We are thrilled to announce these 15 new stores, which are strategically located in areas where there are strong pool and spa care needs," said David Caspers, chief stores officer for Leslie's.
Seven of these stores will be located in various communities across Texas, a state with more than 725,000 residential swimming pools. Texas is the largest state market for Leslie's with 217 stores.
"Texas is a top market for Leslie's, and we are pleased to expand into more communities across the state this year,” Caspers said.
New Texas stores will be located in: Addison, Casa Linda, Dallas, Plano, Southlake, Cibola and Spring.
The other eight new locations are opening in California, New York, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, and Washington.
The retailer announced the expansion along with plans to promote swim lessons and swim safety this summer. To this end, the retailer has partnered with Olympic swimmer Cullen Jones, the American Red Cross and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
"As we move into pool season, we are proud to partner with Cullen Jones, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the American Red Cross to drive water safety awareness, and to support the broadening of learn-to-swim and general water safety education programs across the U.S,” Caspers. said.
