Las Vegas -- The National Hardware Show has worked all year for this moment: Opening day. With the introduction of key dignitaries and a solemn national anthem, Rich Russo, industry VP of the National Hardware Show declared the exhibit floor open on Tuesday morning.
In addition to new products, the event packs a variety of educational sessions, awards and keynotes. First up on the NRHA Village Stage, was John Hartmann, CEO of True Value Company, who delivered a presentation on the company's 2018 transformation and deal with ACON Investments. Hartmann's speech leaned heavily on the need to change in a changing industry. Among his highlight quotes:
• "Simply sticking with the status quo is not an option."
• "The speed of change will never be slower than it is today."
• "It’s incumbent on all of us to challenge how things have been, and to think differently."
