Do it Best independent home improvement business Carr Hardware & Supply, announced the success of their “Carrniversary” weekend which, with customers’ help, led to a $5,272.12 donation to the Berkshire Humane Society.

President of Carr Hardware, Bart Raser said, “The folks over at the Berkshire Humane Society are so important to our community, and our customers made it easy to raise the funds during these challenging times. We are a community business that believes in giving back, it has been part of our core culture for the past 93 years and always will be.”

Carr Hardware, with five stores in Mass. and two in Conn., has a long-standing history of working with the Pittsfield, Mass.-based Society, which has been helping people and animals since 1992.

Executive Director John Perreault said, “Carr Hardware is a great community partner of Berkshire Humane Society, for many years now Carr’s has been a supporter of our many fundraisers.”

Perreault said, “during the last few years of holding the event, and being the beneficiaries of the bucket sales, it has really helped to provide the support we need to be able to provide so many animals loving new homes.”

Each year the animal shelter takes in over a thousand animals who have nowhere else to go. “No matter their age, temperament, medical condition, or breed, we turn no animal away, and we place 100% of our adoptable animals into new loving homes,” said the Society.

“The weekend was a huge success, we had over 3,800 customers come out to celebrate our 93rd Carrniversary with us.”
