Fort Wayne, Ind.-based hardware and LBM co-op Do it Best Corp. shared with members a revitalized commitment to boost store sales, customer counts and customer traffic through a bolstered e-commerce effort.
The co-op’s “more highly focused and expanded” e-commerce program will be led by newly appointed VP Of E-commerce Nick Talarico, who previously had the title of VP of sales and business development.
CEO Dan Starr shared the news with members Monday morning, promising more news in the coming months around the initiative enhance e-commerce.
“We have been actively helping our members grow their businesses for years by expanding locations, adding new ones, and acquiring others,” said Starr. “And we’ll continue to do that. We also want to take steps to ensure that they remain positioned to capture the growth that can come with e-commerce.”
BOPIS, or buy online pick up in-store, has seen exponential growth, and will be a key focus area for the team, Starr said.
Starr described Talarico as a leader who will get things done by working across the company and leveraging experience in sales-driving initiatives and change management. “Enhanced e-commerce success will require many things,” Starr added. “Nick’s leading of this team is a significant step, one of many. I’m confident that Nick and the e-commerce team will address these needs and move us well down the path of e-commerce excellence.”
