Texas town to get new Ace dealer
A new hardware store is under construction in Chandler, Texas, the result of two years of land use preparations, according to an article in TylerPaper.com.
The owner, Dan Langen, also operates Noonday Hardware just south of Tyler, Texas. The building is estimated to cost $450,000. Plans call for a 15,000-sq.-ft. store, with 10,000 sq. ft. of retail selling space and a 5,000-sq.-ft. warehouse. A receiving dock on the north side of the store will allow 18-wheelers to make deliveries, the article said. Customers will have their own pick-up area near the parking lot.
In hopes of revitalizing business on the west side of town, the Chandler Economic Development Corp. and the Chandler City Council recently approved a $30,000 grant to help fund infrastructure and driveways for the new store. The city expects to recoup its money in four years, based on anticipated city tax revenues of $30,000 a year. Of this amount, 25%, or $7,500, would be earmarked for economic development, according to the city administrator.
