Ohio lawmakers recognize Klinker's

2/20/2018

Ace Hardware affiliate Klinker's Lumber & Building Supply of Waverly City, Ohio, was recognized by the state's House of Representatives for opening a new paint studio in May.

The store's paint studio — essentially a remodeled and rethought version of its paint section — now sells Valspar paints, including their Aspire and Professional line of paints, in addition to the Ace line of paint. The paint studio will also allow employees to mix custom paint colors to match customers' color palettes.

The legislators' commendation noted that Klinker's had "earned the gratitude and appreciation of many, and the grand opening of its new paint studio…is a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the business itself but also on the astute management of its owners…and on the Waverly Community."

Klinker's has been in the Waverly City area since the 1940s, when its founders began as a baseball bat manufacturer. It eventually grew to include cabinets, storm windows and doors, then expanded in 1964 to include a lumber warehouse. Since 1979, the company has been in the same 12,000-sq.-ft. store, replacing its original lumber warehouse with a drive through lumberyard.
