Next Big Thing: The system upgrade
Besser Ace Hardware may be Arkansas's oldest hardware store, but modernized technology is making it more customer friendly.
The retailer, which was established in 1887, has served the downtown Little Rock community in its current location since the 1960s. When the operator embarked on a complete remodel however, it was time to replace its previous point-of-sale system with robust software.
"Our search for a new solution provider was focused on finding a technology partner and system that could improve our efficiencies and bottom line," said Steve Modi, owner of Besser Ace Hardware.
The store now features Epicor Eagle N Series software, a fully-integrated retail business management system. The Eagle solution is leveraged in more than 3,000 Ace Hardware store locations in North America, Epicor said.
"Because of the market-leading partnership Epicor has with Ace Hardware, in addition to powerful software functionality, we have no doubt that our business will be strengthened and more successful going forward,” Modi said. "With the user-friendly technology that Eagle N Series offers, our staff will be able to spend less time on tedious back-office tasks such as ordering, and more time with our customers — which will ultimately affect our bottom line positively.”
The system will also give users access to customer information and real-time inventory “with the click of a button.”
“We can speed to customer history and product stock status which is key for us to serve our customers better,” Modi said. “Eagle N Series is a great enhancement to our business and we are eager to see the benefits of the intuitive solution in our store.”
