Do it Best welcomes vendors to Fort Wayne

Hardware industry vendors descended on Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dec. 2 as Do it Best Corp.’s Open Buying Day kicked off at its headquarters.

The event enabled Do it Best merchandise managers to meet one-on-one with prospective vendors interested in doing business with Do it Best Corp. and its member-owners. The products presented as part of this year’s Open Buying Day covered all product categories, from tools to housewares.  

Prospective domestic and international vendors participated.

“Discovering new vendors and products is an important part of our goal in helping our members grow,” said Steve Markley, VP of merchandising for Do it Best Corp. “Our Open Buying Day event is an outstanding opportunity for our merchandising team to meet with potential new vendors, learn more about their products and explore innovative product opportunities for our members. We have discovered good vendor partners at past Open Buying Days, and we anticipate the same type of results from this year’s event.”

The Open Buying Day was held in partnership with the Presidents Council, an organization devoted to the development of the home improvement and home building industries.
