Do it Best stands up for ‘buy local’ group

Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Do it Best Corp. says it is is standing up for independents through its just-announced sponsorship of Independent We Stand, an association and website dedicated to the buy-local movement.

Do it Best Corp. will work alongside co-sponsors Stihl and FCA US to continue efforts to increase awareness about the importance and strong economic benefits of buying local through marketing campaigns, social media and strong partnerships.

The co-op became an associate sponsor and the latest business to join the movement. The non-profit group says Its membership includes hardware stores, home centers, lumberyards, commercial/industrial suppliers and e-tailers.

“It only makes sense that we’d partner with a buy-local movement since it’s already in our members’ DNA,” said Dan Starr, president and CEO of Do it Best Corp. “Efforts to bring greater awareness to the importance of buying local clearly resonate with our member-owners. It exemplifies who we are and who we are all here to serve nationwide.”
