Do it Best rebates take center stage
Indianapolis -- When a retailer gets a million-dollar check, that’s news. It happened five times at the recent Do it Best October Market here, as the distribution of the co-op’s patronage dividend reached significant heights -- particular for five high-volume members.
Member rebates for the year totaled $116.4 million, the 12th consecutive year of crossing the $100 million mark in total distribution of rebates. Referring to the rebate program, Do it Best President and CEO Bob Taylor said: “We are committed to being effective stewards of our members’ investment in their co-op.”
The five biggest checks went to the following members:
Parker Do it Best Lumber, $2,020,949;
Runnings, $1,501,950;
Alamo Do it Best Lumber, $1,308,864;
Meek’s The Builder’s Choice, $1,222,751; and
RP Lumber Company, $1,040,884.
For the retailers, the checks are an opportunity to build business. "Meek's greatly values the DiB rebate each and every year," said Eric Sachse, director of marketing for Meek's The Builders Choice. "Just like any vendor rebate, we will reinvest those funds into programs that enable us to sell and service more of that vendors' products to our pro & DIY customers."
