Do it Best celebrates Waco safety streak

Do it Best Corp. recognized its Waco Retail Service Center for surpassing five consecutive years without any lost time due to a safety incident or injury.

Executives from Do it Best Corp., including CEO Bob Taylor, VP of Retail Logistics Tim Miller and Board Chair Jim Lehrer, were on hand to recognize the RSC team in a ceremony in Waco last week.

"We're committed to instilling a safety-first mentality among our team members and ensuring that nothing is more important to us than their safety and well-being," Taylor said during the get together. "Our goal is always for our team to leave work as safely as they arrived."

The 525,000-sq.-ft. Waco RSC employs some 100 team members, who handle thousands of products and move tons of freight on a daily basis. Do it Best operates eight RSCs. 

"As independent retailers, we rely heavily on our RSCs to provide us the right products for our businesses," said Lehrer, owner of two hardware stores in Louisville, Kentucky.
