Ace supplies Spike TV's Framework
The Spike TV network has new show called “Framework,” and Ace Hardware Corp. will play a prominent role in the action.
The show is described as a “furniture design competition series,” featuring emerging furniture designers competing for $100,000 cash prize, plus plenty of perks.
According to Ace, a key component of the series will be the Ace Supply Station, a large hub located in the “Framework” workshop that will provide contestants with the tools and products they need to complete the furniture design challenges. The station will supply anything from power tools to painting supplies.
The first show airs Jan. 6.
“This exciting partnership gives us an opportunity to showcase that each neighborhood Ace store has a wide assortment of products and the best brands, such as Craftsman and Clark+Kensington paint+primer in one, which help homeowners tackle their home maintenance projects,” said Jeff Gooding, senior director of consumer marketing for Ace Hardware Corp. “Whether you are building a piece of custom furniture or completing a project at home, the helpful folks at Ace can provide the right products and neighborly advice to help you get the job done right.”
The Ace-Spike partnership is one in a line of recent reality-television excursions for hardware co-ops. At the Ace Hardware convention in Orlando in September, entrepreneurs featured on the reality TV show “Shark Tank” appeared as a group with their home related products in a “Shark Tank” aisle. Their appearance was organized by the show's celebrity investor Lori Greiner.
Earlier this month, True Value Company’s President and CEO John Hartmann appeared on the reality TV show “Undercover Boss.”
