Ace Hardware races for a miracle
The Ace Hardware Foundation and local Oakland, Calif.-area Ace retailers presented a check for $34,105 to the Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland last month.
Proceeds were raised during a month-long in-store fundraising campaign to benefit "Racing for a Miracle" - a multi-dimensional campaign benefiting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which raises funds for 170 children's hospitals such as Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland.
The event included some big time racing talent. Richard Petty Motorsports driver Marcos Ambrose, teamed up with Stanley Black and Decker, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and the Ace Foundation in the "Racing for a Miracle" event.
Ambrose, driver of the Stanley Ford Fusion No. 9, met with his honorary pit crew -- several former and current patients from Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland -- before the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event in Sonoma, Calif.
Ace Hardware has been a corporate partner of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 1991 and has raised more than $46 million over the past 20 years.
