Another D.C. for Cameron Ashley
Cameron Ashley Building Products, Inc. formerly Guardian Building Products, continued its spree of growth-related headlines by opening a distribution center in Columbia, S.C.
The facility has an approximate 150-mile service radius and will serve customers on the east coast from Savannah, Ga., to Wilmington, N.C., west to Asheville, N.C., and north to Winston-Salem, N.C.
The latest distribution center will provide sales and inventory support for continued growth in roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other building materials. It represents the third in a series of Cameron Ashley locations opening in 2019.
“Our Columbia distribution center will open in March and represents our latest investment to expand our coverage and better serve existing and future customers in our East Region,” said Regional VP Tom Gaffey. Key suppliers stocked at this location will include CertainTeed Roofing, Deckorators Decking, Knauf Insulation, Lomanco Vents, National Gypsum, TAMKO Roofing, Titanium/RhinoRoof, USG, and more.
The move follows company announcements including, new distribution centers in North Carolina and Ohio, as well as the acquisition of Warrior Building Products of St. Louis, Mo.
“We are continuing to expand our footprint nationally and regionally, and our Columbia distribution center allows us to be even better at what we do best – fulfill our customers’ needs with on time and complete deliveries,” said Distribution Center Manager Jack Nilsson. Beginning in March, all incoming and outgoing deliveries and customer pickups will be serviced out of the new Columbia facility.
