Data reveals which tech features home buyers want
Bells and whistles in an abode can grab attention, but which tech-forward features are actually moving the needle for home buyers?
The NAHB has compiled data related to this specific issue in its recent What Home Buyers Really Want publication, which culled feedback from more than 3,000 recent and prospective home buyers. Among the findings: "Seventy-eight percent of home buyers rated a programmable thermostat as either essential/must have or desirable, followed by security cameras (76 percent), video doorbell (74 percent), and wireless home security system (70 percent)."
The data points to two key issues at the forefront of home buyers' minds: boosting energy efficiency and increasing safety. The NAHB highlights consumers' top eight features below.
The NAHB explains that each question on technology features is parsed by the buyer’s income, age, geography, race, household type and the price they expect to pay for the home.
