Curtis Lumber announced that it has acquired Wiley Bros., Inc., the Schaghticoke, N.Y.-based pro dealer.
Through Wiley Brothers’ 75-year history, the dealer has been a family-owned, lumber yard and home improvement store very similar to Curtis Lumber.
Moving forward, the Wiley Bros. store location will carry Curtis Lumber’s premium products, an improved hardware assortment, and be staffed with the expertise to cater to both builders and homeowners.
“When we were approached about adding Wiley Brothers to our existing store locations, we jumped at the chance,” said Jay Curtis, president, and CEO of Curtis Lumber. “Our superior product assortment, award-winning delivery service, and extensive employee training program will only improve upon what has been a well-run family business.”
The transaction is expected to close on or about Jan. 31 with Curtis Lumber opening for business the next day. Financial terms were not disclosed.
All Wiley Bros. employees will be offered positions with Curtis Lumber.
Based in Ballston Spa, N.Y., Curtis Lumber operates 21 locations in New York and Vermont.
