Quikrete has issued a challenge to holiday shoppers.
Before shopping at a department store or on a retail website, Quikrete is challenging people to make concrete gifts for family and friends this holiday season.
Beyond the thoughtful gesture of giving a custom homemade gift, Quikrete will also award the three most creative, well-crafted and high-quality DIY projects entered into its One Bag Wonder contest cash prizes and a trip to Atlanta for the Haven Conference.
“You can’t put a price tag on the personal heartfelt sentiment of a gift made with your own two hands, especially when it’s truly one-of-a kind,” said Frank Owens, SVP of marketing for the Quikrete Companies. “Packaged concrete is easy to use and can be transformed into an endless array of objects. So, if you’re really looking to make a statement this holiday season, turn a $5 bag of packaged concrete into luxurious jewelry, sleek home décor or high-end furniture at a fraction of the cost of buying the gifts. Your family and friends will appreciate the gesture and gift for years.”
From Nov. 1 to 30, DIY holiday gift projects created with no more than one bag of any Quikrete product can be entered into the One Bag Wonder contest. Enter by emailing three photos or a video with a 200-word description that includes the inspiration and step-by-step instructions to [email protected] or by posting the same information on social media with #QUIKRETE1BagWonder.
Quikrete will be joined by the Home Projects Council, a think tank of home improvement experts, in judging the projects based on creativity, craftsmanship and quality.
The winners will be announced on Dec. 15 with first place receiving $2,500, second place $1,500, and third place $500. Winners will also receive travel accommodations to Atlanta from July 15-17 for the Haven Conference, a premier DIY/home décor blogger event, where their projects will be exhibited by Quikrete.
