Jean Fahy, who was named LBM division manager of business development for Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Do it Best Corp. in July of last year, has moved on to a new company.
The holder of both an MBA and a Six Sigma Green Belt has joined Indiana-based Robert Weed Corp. as vice president of sales.
No successor to her role as business development manager has been named immediately by Do it Best Corp. Previously, Fahy served Do it Best Corp. as LBM division manager of building materials. Prior to that, she was the co-op’s regional sales manager for the West Coast.
Both she and the co-op described her departure from Do it Best as amicable.
Robert Weed Corp., based in Bristol, Indiana, is a hardwood plywood supplier that specializes in components for the recreational vehicle industry and other industries. In the role, she leads the sales growth of wood and composite products servicing the RV, manufactured housing, and furniture industries.
“I have worked for manufacturers for the majority of my career and really look forward to getting back to continuous improvement and dusting off my Green Belt,” she told HBSDealer.
In addition to her decade of employment at Do it Best, Fahy served in the manufacturing and distribution sectors for the Masco Builder Cabinet Group, Meritage Homes, Norcraft and Elkay Manufacturing.
Fahy is also a two-time honoree of HBSDealer’s Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply program. In a 2021 interview, she offered the following advice to young executives climbing the corporate ladder: “It’s important to understand your strengths and focus on them,” she said. “It’s also important to know that the most important thing in business is collaboration and teamwork in support of a mission.”
Robert Weed Corp.’s Bristol headquarters is located in northern Indiana near the Michigan border. The manufacturer also operates a Western division in Twin Falls, Idaho.
