Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed, has started up production at its newest North American production site.
Located in Quakertown, Pa., this is the company’s first STONEfacade plant with the state-of-the-art facility increasing the capacity by ten-fold, according to Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed.
STONEfaçade is a stone veneer system, made with concrete, that can be quickly and easily installed by any siding contractor without any special equipment or masonry skills.
“We’re excited to bring our new STONEfaçade products to more customers around the country, and we’re proud to add another American factory to our manufacturing portfolio,” said Joe Bondi, vice president and general manager of CertainTeed Sidings Product Group. “Our STONEfaçade products allow siding contractors to offer more solutions to their clients, while ultimately saving installation time and costs without compromising on aesthetics."
Bondi also said that the new plant help customers capitalize on this innovative product and ride the wave of increased demand for stone siding products.
Compared to traditional stone, STONEfaçade requires less time and fewer materials for wall preparation and installation. STONEfaçade uses screw-in panels, is entirely mortar-free, and comes equipped with an integrated rainscreen to manage moisture and create a higher-performing wall system. Additionally, STONEfaçade features one-piece alternating corners for a realistic appearance.
The STONEfaçade stone veneer system comes in several different color palettes, carefully painted by hand on each individual panel, that can be coordinated with a variety of CertainTeed siding and roofing colors.
