Carr Hardware plans a Mass. makeover
Carr Hardware, a business with a 96-year history of serving its communities, announced a major investment in downtown Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The retailer’s Pittsfield location will undergo a $400,000 remodel this fall.
The company says the project "underscores Carr Hardware’s commitment to the community and its confidence in the future of Downtown Pittsfield."
As we continue to grow our business, we don’t forget where we came from. We want to continue to invest in our business, stay relevant to our customer but not give up our old fashioned local charm," the company said in an announcement of the plan.
Work will be complected by local contractors, the company said.
Carr Hardware & Supply Company, Inc. was founded in 1928 by Sam Carr. In 1962, the Raser family purchased the business and continues to operate it today in Pittsfield, Lee, Lenox, Great Barrington, and North Adams in Massachusetts and Avon in Connecticut.
