Cameron Ashley recognized in South Carolina
Cameron Ashley Building Products was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in South Carolina.
The building products distributor, with headquarters in Greer, S.C., ranks 25th among South Carolina companies with more than 250 employees.
The annual program, now in its 16th year, was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.
“We’re thrilled to be named to this esteemed list for the second year in a row,” said Beth Brown, vice president of human resources at Cameron Ashley Building Products. “Our employees have truly made the difference in the way we operate, and we’re so proud that they have shown us that they feel the same way!”
The survey-and-awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in South Carolina, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses.
The list is made up of 81 total companies.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements: ▪ be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity:
- be a publicly or privately held business;
- have a facility in the state of South Carolina;
- have a minimum of 15 employees working in the state of South Carolina;
- and be in business a minimum of 1 year.
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.
The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.
Also included in this year’s South Carolina rankings is New South Construction Supply.
The building materials supplier was ranked 10th among medium-sized employers with 50 to 250 employees.
New South Construction Supply operates five locations in South Carolina and nine overall, including branches in North Carolina and Georgia.
Cameron Ashley operates a network of over 45 stocking distribution centers throughout the United States.
